back on my feet illustrations

Saturday, September 17, 2011

I recently designed/illustrated a few recipes for a muffin cookbook that will be sold to help out Back on My Feet (http://boston.backonmyfeet.org/boston-landing.html), a local Boston charity.

Bakers donated their recipes and artist donated their skills. It's going to be a pretty awesome book! Stay tuned for when it becomes available for purchase.

The first design, I drew and cut EVERYTHING out of paper and then scanned it in. It was so much fun! The second design was done completely on the computer. Not my style typically but we needed something with a punch of color to go in the book.

Enjoy!

Here I am looking through some old photos and I came across last years NYC holiday window displays. It was such an inspiring trip and they were so elaborate and detailed! I wonder how this year will top it! Can't wait to see...

look at this beautiful doorway I found during my trip to Colorado! Even though its boarded up I think it has such a charm.

for the love of georgetown, colorado

Saturday, November 6, 2010

In a not so recent trip I took to Denver to visit my bestest friend dani, we took a road trip through the mountains of Colorado! We passed through many little mining towns and just enjoyed the scenery and good conversation. This little town of Georgetown was soo cute. Nestled right into the mountain, it was full of old historic buildings. It was such a beautifully cold day. Here are a few photos that I love!

little birds

I made these little darlings after a trip to the jewelry/bead store this weekend. I didn't realize how easy it is to make custom earrings by picking and choosing between all the little charms. I'm so excited to start wearing them! However, I need some jewelry making tools because putting them together with pliers and a nail clipper just won't cut it! enjoy!

mousepath

Saturday, August 7, 2010

not sure if anyone has ever used the mousepath program but it makes the most beautiful images based on your mouse movements. the circles represent where your mouse sits still and the lines are obviously the direction of movement. isnt it amazing? looks like i do a lot on the top of the screen. i minimized the window and didn't check it until an hour or so!

the era

here are the cows on the farm in 1978. i was four years away from even being born at this point, but i still do remember being around all of those cows for years after this. usually we would be throwing things at them though. it was a great playground for us!

i'm not sure who the photographer would be...possible mom, dad, grandma or even grandpa. i sure do wish i could go back to those days.

my last post was on october 2009...wow. but when i look back it is no wonder i didn't have anything to really be excited about. tough year i suppose.

i have so many photos i have taken over the years and have been looking back on them for some inspiration. so, lets start my re-posting with something random and pointless. i think i enjoy the idea that i don't have to explain the meaning of anything right now.
